China has published a new white paper titled “China's Position on Some Issues Concerning China-U.S. Economic and Trade Relations.” Released by the State Council Information Office, the document outlines China’s stance on ongoing trade tensions with the United States.

According to the white paper, China wants to clarify facts and share its viewpoint on trade relations. It states that the U.S. has increased unilateral and protective trade actions, which have hurt normal cooperation. Since 2018, the U.S. has imposed tariffs on Chinese exports worth over $500 billion. These include new tariffs linked to the fentanyl issue, reciprocal taxes, and a 50% increase on some existing tariffs.

China says these actions go against fair market rules and global trade practices. The paper claims the U.S. is becoming increasingly isolationist and forceful, which could severely damage economic ties between the two countries.

In return, China has taken strong actions to protect its interests but remains open to resolving issues peacefully. China says it has held several discussions with U.S. officials to bring stability to the trade relationship.

The paper also emphasizes that economic ties between the two nations are “mutually beneficial and win-win.” Despite having different systems and stages of development, both sides can work together if they respect each other’s core concerns and communicate openly.

The Chinese government stresses the need for dialogue and understanding instead of conflict. The white paper urges both countries to find fair solutions through calm negotiation rather than tariffs and pressure.
