Bengaluru leads fresher hiring in GCC sector
New Delhi
Bengaluru is leading India’s fresher hiring boom in 2025, especially in the Global Capability Centre (GCC) sector, according to a new report. About 17 per cent of companies in the city plan to increase fresher hiring by over 50 per cent, showing a stronger hiring intent than other cities.
NLB Services reported a 4 per cent rise in IT hiring this year. The demand for entry-level talent is driven by automation, cybersecurity, and cloud advancements. “Firms are now investing in freshers to build a future-ready workforce,” said Sachin Alug, CEO of NLB Services.
The IT-hardware and software sector showed the most growth, with hiring share rising from 17 per cent in 2024 to 34 per cent this year. Other growing sectors include FMCG, insurance, and pharma.
Freshers in IT roles can expect annual salaries between Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 8 lakh. Software developers may earn Rs 2.8 lakh to Rs 8.2 lakh, while web developers can get Rs 2 lakh to Rs 8 lakh.
Hiring is also increasing in tier 2 and 3 cities like Mysuru, Indore, Lucknow, Kochi, and Jaipur. These cities offer fresher salaries from Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh, sometimes higher than in metros.
Cities like Nashik, Salem, and Vadodara are also gaining importance as new GCC hubs. The report says digital transformation will keep raising demand for young and diverse talent across India.
