U.S. Vice President JD Vance has come to President Donald Trump’s defense after Elon Musk posted—and later deleted—a controversial message on X (formerly Twitter), alleging Trump’s name appeared in the sealed Jeffrey Epstein files. Musk claimed this was why the documents had not been made public.
In the deleted post, Musk wrote, “Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” The tweet quickly gained attention before being removed without explanation.
Vance strongly denied the allegation, stating, “Absolutely not, Donald Trump didn’t do anything with Epstein.” He also expressed hope for reconciliation, saying, “I hope eventually Elon comes back into the fold.”
The tension between Musk and Trump deepened as Musk further claimed, “Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate.” Trump responded on Truth Social, saying, “I don’t mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago.”
White House aides are reportedly trying to soften the president’s public remarks regarding Musk. When asked about the feud, Trump appeared unfazed, saying, “Oh, it’s okay. It’s going very well, never done better.”
This exchange highlights growing discord between Trump and Musk, who resigned from his advisory role to focus on private ventures but has increasingly criticized Trump’s leadership, especially over the “Big Beautiful Bill.”
