A one-day training workshop was held for shepherds at the Taluk Panchayat Hall of the city.
All sheep herders in the district were trained and informed about modern technology of sheep and goat farming, value-added meat production and marketing and information on subsidized loan facilities under the Prime Minister's Entrepreneurship Development Corporation.
The workshop was inaugurated by Karnataka Sheep and Wool Development Corporation and former President of Mahamandal Bangalore, Pandit Rao Chidri, said that there is a need to create awareness among the shepherds about the assistance facilities available from the government.
Joint Director of District Industries and Commerce Department, B Somashekar, District Skill Mission Development Officer K Gavi Shankar also provided training on the facilities available from their department. Mohammed Rafiq Mira Nayak, who is also the technical advisor and resource person of Balu Mama Rural Development Organization, provided special training to the shepherds in the workshop.
Balu Mama Rural Development Organization District President Siddaiah Kallimath presided over the workshop.
The shepherds of district and office bearers of various organizations participated in the said workshop and made the one-day training workshop a success. Mallikarjunaiah Puranik Math, Secretary of Balu Mama Rural Development Organization, congratulated everyone and offered alms at the end of the programme.
Secretary of Balu Mama Trust, Mallikarjuna Puranik Math, gave training to the shepherds on how to take advantage of the training workshop and get the assistance facilities available from the government.
