The Karnataka State Bioenergy Development Board Chairman SE Sudheendra visited NIE Engineering College, Bioenergy Research Information and Demonstration Centre to review the progress of Bioenergy activity in the district.
The Chairman visited biodiesel production unit, launched biodiesel operated vehicles and biogas production unit.
He stressed on proposed the New Karnataka State Bioenergy Policy 2025-30, all the inputs provided by the entrepreneurs, feed stack supplies and the investers will going to incorporate in the policy which will help the overall development of the biofuel sector in the State.
Demonstration of the Karnataka State Bioenergy Development Board’s bioenergy related programmes at the recently held "Sustainable Technology" International Conference in Mysuru and the ideas presented by him in the conference; the progress made in the implementation has been discussed with Prof Sham Sundar.
On this occasion, he reviewed the visit of representatives of Fachhochschole Dortmund, Germany, University, University Of Applied Sciences and Arts, Dortmund and their keen interest showed on the KSBDB’s Bioenergy Programmes and the subsequent developments.
Prof Sham Sunder explained to the Chairman regarding the “Memorandum of Understanding” to be executed between the board and German universities.
Speaking on this occasion, Prof Sudheendra said the German universities have already invited him and his working team for a visit and asked Prof. Sham Sunder to examine the draft MoU along with the board officials. He added to make all the necessary arrangements to visit the German Universities at the earliest.
During the progress review meeting former IT Cell president PS Niranjan Rao, Assistant Environmental Officer of Pollution Control Board Arpita, Prof Shyam Sundar and his team and faculty members of NIE Engineering College were present.
