Project To Fill 39 Lakes Of Raibag Constituency, Action to Complete The Work, DCM DK Shivakumar

Deputy Chief Ministers DK Shivakumar said  that action will be taken to complete the project to fill 39 lakes of Raibag constituency.

He informed while answering to a question raised by MLA Duryodhan Aihole in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.

The work of this project is Rs. 80 percent completed, the work has stalled due to farmers' dispute at the construction site of the project's jack well and pump house. The disputing farmer has filed a case in the court regarding this, and quick action will be taken to resolve the issue and complete the work. Senior officials of the Water Resources Department will be sent to the farmers to discuss the matter. MLAs and officials should discuss with the concerned farmers and solve the problem amicably, DK Shivakumar said.

MLA of Savadatti constituency   Vishwas Vasant Vaidya said that 500 acres of land of about 8 villages of Shindhogi part has been deprived of irrigation due to the rupture of the river siphon built on the right bank canal of Malaprabha left bank canal in Savadatti Yallamma assembly constituency. And said that there is a problem of drinking water for the people of this part.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar replied that the survey consultancy has been given to prepare a detailed estimate list to facilitate re-establishment of irrigation facility through new technology instead of this old river siphon, survey work is in progress. After completion of the survey work, the feasibility and availability of grant will be checked and action will be taken. But he said that action will be taken immediately to prevent the problem of drinking water.
