The jurisdiction of the Bengaluru City Commissionerate is expanding rapidly, and police personnel must rise to meet the increasing responsibilities, said City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh.
He was addressing officers and staff after receiving the salute at the first monthly parade held at the CAR (City Armed Reserve) headquarters grounds on Mysore Road.
The Commissioner highlighted the recent inclusion of Kumbalagodu, Avalahalli, and Hebbagodi police stations under the Commissionerate’s jurisdiction. “With the area expanding day by day, the scope of our duties is also increasing. It is essential that officers and staff perform their responsibilities with commitment and diligence,” he said.
Commissioner Singh also announced that three new departments will be added soon to the existing eight, further enhancing the city’s policing capacity. Stressing discipline and teamwork, he emphasized the importance of participating in monthly parades, which promote unity and professionalism.
Recalling his own early days in service, Singh shared that he had trained at the same CAR grounds 28 years ago. “I am honored to receive the salute here today,” he said, adding that he previously served as DCP Traffic and Additional Commissioner of Police in the city.
He encouraged officers to deliver citizen-friendly service and ensure that every visitor to a police station is treated with respect and empathy. “People who come to us are already in distress. Do not add to their burden. Listen to them and help them,” he urged.
The Commissioner concluded by stating that teamwork, discipline, and dedication are key to maintaining Bengaluru’s peace and reputation. “Let us serve the people well. I am confident that each of you will do your duty with sincerity,” he said.
