The health of more than 30 villagers of Buthaladinni village in Sindhanur taluk has deteriorated. As a result, health officials and a medical team have visited the village and conducted an inspection.
On suspicion that the villagers fell ill after consuming contaminated water, a sample of the contaminated water has been sent to the laboratory. The cause of the incident will be known after the report.
The villagers have been suffering from stomach pain and vomiting and diarrhea for the past two days. Out of the 27 people, 6 have already been admitted to the hospital, received treatment and returned. The other two are undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
Upon learning of the matter, a team of officials including Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Chandrashekar, Taluk Health Officer Dr. Ayyanagowda, and AEE Vijayalakshmi of the ZP Drinking Water and Sanitation Department went to the village, went door to door to listen to the problems of the patients, and investigated.
Doctors have examined and treated those suffering from vomiting and diarrhea at the sub-primary health facility in the village. Two doctors, 4 community health officers and necessary staff have been deployed in the village. An ambulance and 5 beds have been arranged. The health of the public is being closely monitored and the villagers should not panic. Health officials have said that if there is any change in health, they should immediately come to the hospital for treatment.
Steps are already being taken to ensure that people do not face any inconvenience in connection with the vomiting and diarrhea case. Samples of the drinking water consumed by the people have been taken and sent to the laboratory. The cause of the incident will be known after the report.
