The air travel between Mangaluru and Bahrain will become more convenient for expats as Air India Express has decided to introduce two weekly direct flights in the summer schedule.
According to the details on the air carrier's official website, flights will operate from Mangaluru to Bahrain on Sunday and Friday, while the Bahrain to Mangaluru flight will operate on Monday and Friday. Previously, there were two flights, but one of them flew via Kannur International Airport. With limited flights, expats from Bahrain depended on other international airports to reach their hometowns in the coastal districts.
Recently, I tried to book flights to send my family to our hometown for the summer vacation, and the fare was around Rs 43,000 one-way. How can one afford such a costly ticket? It is because of the limited flights. However, I am happy that considering the demand, the flight carrier has added direct flights from Mangaluru to Bahrain, expressed Vincent Sequeira, who has been working in Bahrain for the past two decades.
An aviation enthusiast highlighted that the current flight schedule, particularly on Fridays, suits the needs of expatriate travellers. Even the flight timings are convenient, the enthusiast noted.
