KLS Institute of Management Education and Research (KLS IMER) organised an insightful seminar on the theme “One Nation, One Election,” drawing enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and dignitaries. The event aimed to encourage dialogue on electoral reforms and strengthen democratic awareness among youth.

The keynote address was delivered by former MLC Capt. Ganesh Karnik, who stressed the significance of democracy and voter responsibility. He outlined the benefits of simultaneous elections, such as reduced expenditure, improved administrative efficiency, and fewer governance interruptions.

Capt. Karnik also emphasised the pivotal role of young citizens in shaping the country’s future and encouraged them to actively engage in the democratic process. An interactive session followed, where students voiced their opinions and debated the feasibility and implications of the One Nation, One Election initiative.

KLS IMER Chairman RS Mutalik presided over the session, expressing strong support for the concept and praising the institution for creating platforms that engage students in nation-building topics. Dr. Arif Shaikh, Director of KLS IMER, and Prof. Ameet V Kulkarni were also present.

The seminar reflected the institute’s broader mission to foster informed, responsible citizens by facilitating exposure to relevant socio-political debates. Students and faculty members alike appreciated the opportunity to delve into a national issue with practical implications for India’s democratic future.
