Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer CS Gayathri launched the skill training program for women candidates regarding the job roll of water distribution operators under Nal-Jal scheme.
Speaking at the inauguration of a skill training programme on the job roll of water distribution operators under the Nal-Jal scheme, she said that through NRLM, women are being involved in various government programs for the advancement of women and for their economic empowerment. She said that women are being trained to work in drinking water supply systems in gram panchayats through a programme called Nal-Jal Mitra.
The Jaljeevan Mission project aims to provide clean drinking water to every household in rural areas through a pipe connection. The Jaljeevan Mission is nearing completion in the district, and under this, water distribution operators are being trained and equipped under the Nal-Jal scheme. She said that Nal-Jal friends are being trained on Jaljeevan Mission network system, pipeline repair skills and other topics.
The skill training provided to water distribution operators under the Nal-Jal scheme is very useful. Master trainers have already been trained at the state level by the Skill Development Department, and their doubts and problems should be resolved during the training, she said.
GTTC Principal Suhas, KT Sathyana, Junior Training Officer of the Government Industrial Training Institute, Challakere also spoke.
B Suresh, Principal of Government Industrial Training Institute (Women), Yogesh, Manjunath Nadar, Programme Manager of the Jaljeevan Mission, and others were present.
“Directions will be given to the gram panchayats as soon as the government directive comes, and said that water distribution operators are being trained and equipped under the Nal-Jal scheme, and they should take advantage of the training and become ready for action,” Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer CS Gayathri said.
