Chamundeshwari Sanjeevini Women's Organization in Katageri village of Guledagudda taluk has become the only women's organization in the state to win a national award by establishing a union at the gram panchayat level and building a self-reliant life for women.
The Katageri Gram Panchayat level federation has received the National Level Atma Nirbhar Sanghatana Award under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana, National Rural Livelihood Campaign. This women's federation has organized 1,400 families and has 112 self-help groups functioning. This organization, which started with a collection of Rs 20, has today collected more than Rs 2 crore and is working for the economic development of women. Women are getting the schemes of the central government through the Zilla Panchayat and are now leading a self-reliant life by engaging in various jobs.
They have received self-employment skills training from the Zilla Panchayat and have engaged in various livelihood activities by obtaining a total grant of Rs. 25 lakhs from the revolving fund, community investment fund, weaker sections fund and workable gap fund, as well as loan facilities through banks.
Also, women are managing the solid waste management in the Gram Panchayat. In addition to these, they are involved in social activities such as gender equality, nutrition and transformation campaigns. For all these activities, they have received the first national award for good organization.
The Atma Nirbhar Sanghatana 2024 Awards will be presented at a program to be held in New Delhi on August 15, the Independence Day.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Shashidhar Kurera felicitated the Mahila Kondhwa with a letter of appreciation. The women of the union, who have organized and achieved many achievements by taking women from rural areas around Katageri village, have received many awards over the past many years.
