Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that Sri Shivakumara Mahashivayogi   was a great yogi who dedicated his life to fulfill the wishes of Basavadi Sharana.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the Smriti Van built in memory of Dr Shivakumara Swamiji.

Bharat Ratna should be given to Sri   Shivakumar Mahashivayogi. On this occasion, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured that he will write a letter to the Centre.

Kayaka and Dasoha are both values of life. These values were observed by the venerable throughout his life. The Chief Minister expressed great appreciation that today 10,000 children are getting education, accommodation and food in the Math, it is because of the concerted efforts of the life of Dr Shivakumara Mahayogi.

Dr Shivakumara Swamy strove throughout his life to bring about a revolutionary change in the society through Akshara culture. Therefore, the work, concern and his actions will remain immortal in this soil, he said.

As per the wish of Basavadi Sharanas, our government has implemented five guarantee schemes for which Rs 58,000 crores   are being given annually. He explained that all these are bold steps taken by our government in the direction of fulfilling the aspirations of an egalitarian society.

The programme was held in the divine presence of Sri Siddalinga Mahaswasamiji, Dr.Sri Tontada Siddarama Mahaswamiji of Tontadarya Sansthan Math, Shiva Siddheshwar Swamiji, successors of Siddhganga Math.

Former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar, Cooperation Minister K Rajanna, Forest Minister Ishwar Khandre, Industries Minister MB Patil, State Government Delhi Representative TB Jayachandra, MLAs Jyotiganesh, Suresh Gowda, Srinivas, former President of KRIDL M Rudresh and many dignitaries were present.
