CM inaugurates Gangadhar Rao Deshpande Memorial

In a significant event, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the Karnataka Simha  Gangadhar Rao Deshpande Memorial Building and Photo Gallery in Ramathirtha Nagar, Belagavi, as part of the "Gandhi Bharat" initiative. The memorial, constructed at a cost of ₹1.58 crore on a 15-gunta plot, honors the legacy of Gangadhar Rao Deshpande, a prominent Congress leader and figure during the Congress session in Belagavi.

During the inauguration, CM Siddaramaiah paid his respects to Deshpande's statue and took the opportunity to admire rare photographs of the late leader. The memorial features a statue, a photo gallery, and a garden dedicated to Deshpande’s contributions.

Following the memorial inauguration, CM Siddaramaiah also inaugurated the new Science Building at Suvarna Vidhan Soudha.

Prominent attendees included H.K. Patil, President of the Centenary Committee, and Honorary President Veerappa Moily, along with several cabinet ministers including Satish Jarkiholi, Suresh Bairathi, Shivaraj Tangadagi, and Dinesh Gundurao. Local MLAs like Asif (Raju) Seth and Ganesh Hukkeri, along with other officials such as Director of Kannada and Culture Dr. Dharani Devi Malagatti, Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Roshan, and Commissioner of City Police Yada Martin Marbanyang were also present, underscoring the importance of the occasion.
