Caste Census: Mention Golla Sub-Caste, Says MLC DT Srinivas

MLC DT Srinivas, President of the Karnataka State Golla Yadava Sangha, urged that the Golla sub-caste be explicitly mentioned in the upcoming caste census to secure better facilities and benefits. He highlighted that the Yadava and Hanabar communities include 27 sub-castes across the state.

Speaking at a reception honoring top-scoring students in the SSLC and PUC second-year exams of 2024-25, organized by the District Yadava Hanabara Sangha, Srinivas emphasized the need for social and economic development through increased funding from the Central Government’s Nomadic Development Corporation.

Krishna Yadavananda Swamiji of Sri Krishna Yadavananda Math, Gollageri, Chitradurga, also addressed the gathering, praising the Golla community and urging members not to feel inferior. He stressed that inter-caste marriages have existed for centuries and reaffirmed that the Golla identity should be maintained in the caste census.

The event was attended by leaders including Venkatesh Sindhanatti, Jayagouda Patil, Shivalinga Poojary, and District Unit President Sheetala Munde, along with Manjunath Patil, NN Patil, SD Patil, YY Gadkari, Vasantha Karakai, and Sachin Khota.
