Around 25 passengers escaped without serious injuries after a private bus overturned following a collision with a lorry in Arabail Ghat, Yellapur taluk, on Wednesday morning. The bus, traveling from Bengaluru to Goa, and the lorry both nearly plunged into the nearby abyss due to the force of the crash. Fortunately, the drivers and cleaner of the lorry escaped unhurt, and the bus passengers only suffered minor injuries.
In a related incident on Tuesday evening, 13 people were injured in a collision involving a lorry and a TT vehicle on the national highway near Aartibail, Yellapur. The TT driver, Nagaraja Hitnalli of Hagaribommanalli, was reportedly driving at high speed and attempted to overtake a lorry ahead, colliding with another lorry coming from Yellapur. The injured passengers, mostly college students on a trip to Uttara Kannada district, were identified as Kori Naveen Kumar, KB Gadesh, K Srikanth, Kumar Koravar, and others.
Police have registered a case at Yellapur police station, investigating the reckless driving that led to the accident. Authorities continue to monitor road safety in the area.
