Members of the BJP City Unit staged a protest at Ramaswamy Circle in Mysuru on Friday protesting against the suspension of six police personnel holding them responsible for the stampede near M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru which claimed lives of 11 innocent people.

The protest was led by former MLA L.Nagendra and former chairman of D.Devaraja Urs Backward Classes Development Corporation Raghu Kautilya. They slammed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K.Shivakumar for the stampede near the stadium resulting in snuffing out lives of eleven persons. Instead of taking responsibility for the tragedy, the CM put the onus on the police department and suspended six senior police personnel including Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B.Dayanand. It was highly condemnable that an honest police officer like Dayanand had to pay the price for no fault of his.

The protesters raised slogans against the state government and demanded filing the FIR against Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar as they are mainly responsible for the stampede by bringing the victorious RCB team to Bengaluru to receive the felicitation from the government side.
