Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that the Anubhava Mantapa, a monumental project undertaken by the state government at a cost of over Rs 600 crore, will be completed and inaugurated next year.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Basava Jayanthi 2025 – Our Journey Towards Anubhava Mantapa programme organized by the Basava Balaga Federation and the All India Veerashaiva-Lingayat Mahasabha   on Saturday.

The CM said Basavanna, who gave the world the great humanitarian message that all professions are sacred, was not just a revolutionary but also a globally renowned economic thinker. He gave the world the powerful values of  dedicated work and Dasoha. The social revolution sparked by Basavadi Sharanas against the caste system has no parallel elsewhere in the world. They not only advocated for an egalitarian and casteless society but lived by those ideals, Siddaramaiah said. They dreamed of a society free of caste and class. Their lived experiences became Vachanas (philosophical poetic expressions). In Kannada literature, Vachana Sahitya and Dasa Sahitya are significant milestones. Through simple spoken language, Vachana literature reached those who had been excluded by the Sanskrit-dominated system.

The CM  assured that, responding to the demand from the Basava Balaga Federation, the government will allocate increased funds for the construction of Basava Bhavan.

Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Mutt, Social Welfare Minister Dr HC Mahadevappa, MLAs GT Deve Gowda, TS Srivatsa, Tanveer Sait and others were present.

My parents too were denied education. But thanks to Rajappa Master, I was directly admitted to the fifth standard and received formal education, which eventually led me to become Chief Minister twice. If I received education, it was due to Dr BR Ambedkar; and if I became CM, it was because of the Indian Constitution, Siddaramaiah said.
