St. Paul’s Triumphs in Paulite Cup 2025 Finale

St. Paul’s High School, Belagavi emerged champions of the inaugural Paulite Cup 2025, defeating St. Xavier’s High School 4–1 in an electrifying under-14 football final held at the St. Paul’s School Grounds.

The tournament showcased budding football talent from across the city and ended with a high-stakes final between two of Belagavi’s most promising school teams. St. Paul’s stamped their dominance early on, as Aradhya Nakadi struck twice in the 7th and 13th minutes. Abdul Mateen Sayyed added two more goals in the 9th and 47th minutes, sealing victory for the hosts. St. Xavier’s managed a lone goal in the 25th minute through Arquaan Badighar.

The final drew an enthusiastic crowd and was graced by Dr. Derek Fernandes, Bishop of Belagavi. Also present were special guests Neelam and Sheetal Gutigoli, Dipen Shah of Infinity Studio, and several school leaders, including Fr Simon Fernandes SJ (Principal, St. Paul’s), Fr Alendro DaCosta SJ (Vice Principal), and Fr Cyril Braggs (Principal, St. Xavier’s).

The event saw strong alumni support. Dr. Guru Motgi (Dallas-based neurologist) served as Title Sponsor, with DB Group (Doddanavar Brothers) as Golden Sponsor. Best Player awards were sponsored by Dipen Shah, jerseys were provided by Mateen Inamdar (2012 Batch) through Sporting Planet, and support came from Stanley Fernandes (1996 Batch). The Paulites of Belgaum Worldwide team — including Dr. Madhav Prabhu, Paresh Murkute, Aniket Kshatriya, Imran Sanadi, Tanveer Ashtewale, and Tanveer Munshi — played key roles in the event’s success.

The Paulite Cup marked not just a sporting win but a celebration of school spirit, teamwork, and alumni camaraderie.
