₹4,000 Crore Boost for Indi Constituency: Major Projects to Be Launched on July 14

MLA Yashwant Rayagouda Patil urges officials to ensure time-bound, quality implementation of state-funded works

In a significant push to infrastructure and irrigation development, a slew of government projects worth ₹4,000 crore will be launched in the Indi assembly constituency on July 14, said MLA Yashwant Rayagouda Patil. Addressing a press conference in Vijayapura, the legislator said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, and other senior ministers will attend the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony.

The major projects include the 2nd and 3rd phases of the Horthi-Revanasiddheshwar Lift Irrigation Project, pipeline installation for the Thidagundi branch canal, and a major water supply scheme to fill 19 lakes in Indi and Chadchana taluks.

The event will also mark the laying of the foundation for key road projects:

• Chadchana–Gangapura road improvement (115 km) at a cost of ₹250 crore

• A bridge over the Bhima River connecting Padanur and Ankaralagi at ₹265 crore

• Upgradation of Indi Railway Station–Halasangi NH road at ₹210 crore

• Improvement of Aurad–Sadashivagad State Highway at ₹26.5 crore

MLA Patil also announced developmental works in the education and social sectors:

• Laying of the foundation stone for Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Pre-Matric Boys’ Hostel in Lachyan village

• Inauguration of the completed hostel at Indi Nagar

• Inauguration of CC Road at Pragati Colony, Indi Nagar

• Foundation stones for Ambedkar Community Housing in 10 villages

• Inauguration of additional hostel rooms in Horti

Patil emphasized that officials must ensure the proper utilization of funds and completion of works within the stipulated timelines. “This ₹4,000 crore investment is a historic opportunity to uplift the region’s infrastructure and social facilities. Transparency, efficiency, and quality must be prioritized,” he added.
