Bengaluru: Under the guidance of Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, the Cauvery Calling campaign has successfully planted 13.6 million saplings across 34,000 acres in the Cauvery river basin during 2024–25. Since its inception, the initiative has planted a total of 1.22 billion saplings, marking a significant milestone in ecological restoration efforts.

The campaign has empowered 238,000 farmers to adopt tree-based agriculture, promoting sustainable farming practices that enhance soil health and improve water retention. Last year alone, over 50,000 farmers and citizens actively participated in this massive environmental movement.

Cauvery Calling is recognized as the world’s largest farmer-driven ecological restoration effort and was recently named a “Top Innovator” by the Trillion Trees: India Challenge. Its primary goal is to rejuvenate the Cauvery River by encouraging tree-based farming, which sustains river flow throughout the year and revitalizes tropical landscapes.

Speaking about the campaign’s success, Sadhguru said, “Cauvery Calling demonstrates to the world that it is possible to transform barren land through structured and strategic efforts. Anyone who has benefited from soil and water should be part of this movement. Let’s make it happen.”

This initiative continues to inspire ecological conservation and sustainable agriculture across India.
