Vedika Bhansali of Bengaluru is making India proud as she holds second place after Round 2 at the US Kids Golf World Championship in Pinehurst, USA.
Playing in the Girls 9 category, Vedika shot two consistent rounds of 33, finishing at six-under-par, just one shot behind leader Audrey Zhang from the US. Despite a bogey start in Round 2, Vedika bounced back with four birdies, showing impressive control and calm.
In the Boys 12 group, Aida Thimmaiah made a huge jump, moving from 23rd to tied-5th after a brilliant four-under 68. He carded five birdies with only one bogey.
Ojaswini Saraswat, in the Girls 12 category, remained in tied-9th after shooting a solid 68, improving her first round score by two strokes. She’s now just three shots behind the leaders.
India now has three players in the Top 10, with one round left to play. Nihal Cheema, playing in Boys 8, is also in striking distance, currently T-14.
