Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has won the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for April 2025, thanks to his impressive performances in the home Test series against Zimbabwe. He beat Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani and New Zealand’s Ben Sears for the honour.

Mehidy becomes only the third Bangladeshi cricketer to win this award, after Shakib Al Hasan in March 2023 and Mushfiqur Rahim before that. He said the award was a great honour and a reminder of his journey since the 2016 ICC Under-19 World Cup.

In April, Mehidy was named Player of the Series after a strong all-round showing. In the first Test in Sylhet, he took ten wickets (5-52 and 5-50), despite Bangladesh losing. In the second Test in Chattogram, he scored 104 and took another five-wicket haul, helping his team win and earning the Player of the Match award.

Mehidy said this recognition motivates him to work harder and thanked his teammates, coaches, and fans. He hopes to continue contributing to Bangladesh's success on the global stage.
