Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell added another milestone to his glittering T20 career, equalling the likes of Rohit Sharma, David Warner, Aaron Finch, Jos Buttler, and Michael Klinger with his eighth century in the shortest format of the game. Maxwell’s unbeaten 106* off just 49 deliveries came for Washington Freedom in a Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 match against Los Angeles Knight Riders.

Dubbed the 'Big Show', Maxwell lived up to his name by smashing 13 sixes and just two boundaries at a strike rate of 216.33. His explosive knock rescued Washington Freedom from a shaky 68/4 and powered them to a formidable 208/5. The final over saw him take down Jason Holder for 26 runs alongside Obus Pienaar, sealing a commanding finish.

With this performance, Maxwell crossed the 10,500-run milestone in T20s and remains the only player globally to boast a triple feat—over 10,500 runs, 170+ wickets, and more than five T20 centuries.

Maxwell now shares the fourth spot on the all-time T20 century list. At the top remains Chris Gayle with 22 centuries, followed by Babar Azam (11), Rilee Rossouw and Virat Kohli (9 each).

In the ongoing MLC season, Maxwell has scored 149 runs in three innings at a phenomenal average of 149.00 and a strike rate exceeding 204. With previous scores of 38* and 5, he is currently the second-highest run-getter in the league. Under his captaincy—stepping in for Steve Smith—Washington Freedom has secured one win and one loss so far.
