Indian racer Kush Maini, the BWT Alpine Formula One Team’s reserve driver, led Alpine’s presence on the first day of the famous Goodwood Festival of Speed. Kush took on the iconic Hill Climb in the A523, Alpine’s 2023 Formula One car. This was his second time at Goodwood, and he played a key role in starting Alpine’s 70th anniversary celebrations.

Kush drove the A523 up the hill, followed by other Alpine cars like the classic A110 Berlinette, A110 R, A290, the new A390, and the Alpenglow hypercar concept.

Currently racing in FIA Formula 2, Kush was Alpine’s only driver in Thursday’s Formula 1 demonstration at Goodwood, which celebrated 75 years of Formula One.

The A523, which finished fifth in the 2023 Constructors' Championship with drivers Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly, had two podium finishes last season and also came third in the Belgian Grand Prix Sprint Race. The car wore Alpine’s 2025 blue and pink colors at Goodwood.

Although Kush had to leave early because of his commitments with Mahindra Racing’s Formula E team in Berlin, his appearance was special. He proudly represented India at this big motorsport event and continues to promote Indian talent worldwide.

“It was a pleasure to return to Goodwood and help celebrate 75 years of Formula One and 70 years of Alpine. Driving the A523 on the Hill Climb was amazing. The energy from the fans was incredible,” Kush shared happily.
