West Indies have announced their 16-player squad for the upcoming three-Test series at home against Australia, starting June 25 in Barbados. The squad includes the return of Shai Hope and John Campbell, while veteran pacer Kemar Roach has been dropped.

Roston Chase, who was recently named Test captain, will lead a refreshed squad. ODI vice-captain Brandon King and top-order batter Kevlon Anderson have earned their first Test call-ups. Anderson was rewarded after impressive domestic performances, while King brings white-ball consistency into the longer format.

Shai Hope’s return also adds strength, especially after consistent performances in ODIs. Keacy Carty returns based on recent form, and Johann Layne, a 21-year-old fast bowler from the West Indies Academy, also joins after a strong domestic run with 63 first-class wickets.

The fast-bowling unit features Jayden Seales, Alzarri Joseph, and Shamar Joseph. Anderson Phillip, who recently took five wickets against South Africa A, provides extra support. Spin duties will be shared between captain Chase and vice-captain Jomel Warrican.

Head coach Daren Sammy expressed confidence in the squad, praising the inclusion of young talents and highlighting a strategic direction for the new ICC Test Championship cycle (2025–2027). He noted that this team reflects efforts to match the standards of the world’s top cricket nations.

The series against Australia will also serve as the contest for the Sir Frank Worrell Trophy, with West Indies aiming to begin their Test Championship campaign with renewed energy and talent.
