BBMP East Zone Commissioner Snehal R has directed the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) to immediately begin construction of a new drainage system on 12th Main Road and Cross Road in HAL 2nd Stage. Residents have voiced concerns over the current 50-year-old drainage infrastructure, which frequently overflows due to blockages, causing wastewater to spill onto roads.

The Commissioner warned that failure to comply would result in a penalty of ₹1 lakh against the responsible officials.

During a public grievance meeting, Snehal also addressed complaints from OMBR Layout residents regarding improper solid waste management and unauthorised constructions. She instructed officials to clean up roadside waste and initiate action to remove illegal buildings.

In response to a complaint about an illegal borewell dug in the middle of a road in HRBR 1st Block and an unauthorized ramp built by Sairam Apartments, she ordered immediate sealing of the borewell and removal of the ramp.

Additionally, she called for improved maintenance of Coles Park to ensure it remains clean and accessible to the public. A total of 22 complaints were received during the East Zone public interaction programme. Snehal directed officials to resolve all grievances within the given timeframe.
