Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate three redeveloped railway stations in West Bengal on Thursday as part of the Centre’s Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, officials announced. The stations—Panagarh, Kalyani Ghoshpara, and Joychandi Pahar—are among 103 stations being inaugurated nationwide by the Prime Minister through video conferencing. Panagarh and Kalyani Ghoshpara come under Eastern Railway, while Joychandi Pahar is managed by South Eastern Railway.

These stations have been completely upgraded with new passenger facilities, improved accessibility, and modern designs aimed at making travel more comfortable and convenient. Officials highlighted that the renovations also focus on sustainability, enhancing both the look and functionality of the stations.

An official from South Eastern Railway said the improvements will not only improve the passenger experience but also support the region’s economic development. Under this scheme, around 100 railway stations in West Bengal are being redeveloped with better amenities to serve travelers more efficiently.

This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to modernizing railway infrastructure across the country, ensuring that stations meet contemporary standards and contribute positively to local growth and connectivity. The upgrades at these stations mark a significant step toward transforming India’s rail network into a more passenger-friendly and sustainable system.
