Polling will take place on Thursday for three contested Telangana Legislative Council seats. These include the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates' constituency and two Teachers' constituencies: Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda and Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar.

Voting, conducted through preferential voting, will be held from 8 am to 4 pm. In total, 56 candidates are competing for the Graduates' constituency, while 15 and 19 candidates are contesting the two Teachers' constituencies.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is vying for all three seats, while the ruling Congress has put forth a candidate only for the Graduates' seat. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has opted not to participate in these elections.

BJP leaders, including Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy and Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar, have actively campaigned for their party’s candidates. On the other hand, Congress has relied on the efforts of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and state president B Mahesh Kumar Goud to rally support. Goud also held a video conference to assess the party's election preparations.

The BJP has emphasized its commitment to addressing the concerns of teachers and the educated youth, promising to advocate for these groups if their candidates win. The vote count is scheduled for March 3.
