On the 76th Republic Day, India marked the occasion with vibrant parades and ceremonies across the country. State leaders highlighted major achievements, offered new employment opportunities, and discussed future development plans. While celebrating progress, some states also voiced concerns over specific issues, including the demand for restoration of statehood and security-related incidents.

Bihar’s Bold Job Creation Promise
On Republic Day, Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan announced an ambitious plan to create 12 lakh government jobs and 34 lakh employment opportunities by year’s end. This follows the state's earlier success in generating 24 lakh opportunities and offering jobs to 9 lakh people. Governor Khan emphasized women’s empowerment through welfare programs aimed at self-reliance.

Jammu and Kashmir's Demand for Statehood
In Jammu and Kashmir, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary called for the restoration of statehood during the Republic Day event at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar. He explained that the removal of statehood had deeply affected the people, causing a loss of confidence. Choudhary argued that restoring statehood would restore dignity and peace to the region and bring Jammu and Kashmir back to its rightful constitutional status.

Security Concerns in Assam Amid Celebrations
Republic Day celebrations in Assam faced a brief scare due to a loud noise in Guwahati’s Beharbari area. The noise caused panic but no injuries or property damage. An unattended bag raised further alarms, though thorough checks revealed no suspicious activity. Assam’s Governor, Lakshman Prasad Acharya, praised the state's progress in peace maintenance and infrastructure development.

Telangana’s Technological Vision
Governor Jishnu Dev Verma, during Telangana’s Republic Day celebrations, discussed the state’s ambition to become a global technology hub. Recent investments from the World Economic Forum in Davos are expected to create 49,500 jobs, helping the state lead in innovation and technology.

Celebrations in Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan
Punjab saw peaceful tractor parades by farmers under the Samyukta Kisan Morcha. In Haryana and Rajasthan, state officials, including Governors and Chief Ministers, participated in celebrations, highlighting India’s progress and the importance of unity and growth.
