Noida
In a significant move to enhance security, Noida International Airport (Jewar) and its surrounding areas have been officially designated a 'Red Zone' by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), and national security agencies. As a result, flying drones or any Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in the area is now prohibited.
Authorities have emphasized that unauthorized drone operations will be treated as a serious offense under the Airports Authority of India Act, 1934, and existing UAV regulations, with severe legal consequences for violators.
Manish Mishra, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, stated, Noida International Airport is a critical infrastructure project, and its security is our priority. The Red Zone designation was made on October 8, 2024, to prevent any potential security risks from drones. He also urged citizens to follow the new rules and report any suspicious drone activity immediately.
With Noida International Airport expected to become a major aviation hub, its protection is crucial. To ensure safety, security agencies and local authorities have increased surveillance, including deploying CCTV and advanced monitoring systems. The airport management has called for public cooperation, stressing the importance of complying with these new regulations.
Authorities have asked citizens to promptly inform law enforcement about any suspicious drone activity. In light of these new measures, drone operations around Noida International Airport will face strict enforcement.
