BJP accuses AAP of ignoring 14 CAG reports, demands Delhi Assembly session

Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta, at a joint press conference, accused the AAP government of withholding 14 Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports from the public. He claimed that after BJP leaders moved the court, the Delhi government sent 10 of these reports to the Lieutenant Governor (LG), but four reports remain pending.

Gupta alleged that the Delhi government has intentionally kept the four reports out of the public domain by not sending them to the LG. He also pointed out that the government had assured the Delhi High Court that the session from November 29 to December 4 was not the last session of the outgoing 7th Delhi Assembly, which is set to complete its term in February 2025. The next elections for the 70-member assembly are expected soon.

He further criticized the AAP government, led by Arvind Kejriwal, for being the only government in the country to resist presenting these reports in the assembly. Gupta called for an immediate session to table the pending CAG reports.

On Thursday, the AAP government informed the Delhi High Court that Chief Minister Atishi had sent the reports related to liquor duty, pollution, and finances to the LG for assembly discussion. However, the government’s lawyer requested more time to formally document these developments. The reports, covering the period from 2017-2022, focus on key issues related to Delhi's functioning.
