Chhagan Bhujbal, a senior NCP leader and founder of Samata Parishad, met with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday, expressing his concerns over growing OBC resentment, especially after being excluded from the cabinet. Bhujbal, upset by the denial of a ministerial position, had previously made a statement hinting at his discomfort in staying where he feels unappreciated.
During the meeting, Bhujbal discussed the issues surrounding his exclusion and shared his concerns about the OBC community’s frustration. He mentioned that Fadnavis acknowledged the dissatisfaction and promised to look into it, asking for 8 to 10 days to consider the situation. Bhujbal noted that Fadnavis understood the importance of the OBC community's support in the recent elections and assured that their interests would not be overlooked.
Bhujbal also emphasized the need for further discussions, especially as the state is currently in a festive mood, which has created a different atmosphere. Regarding his future with the NCP, Bhujbal declined to comment on the possibility of joining the BJP. Meanwhile, NCP leader Ajit Pawar responded to the situation, stating it was an internal matter to be addressed within the party.
This meeting marked Bhujbal’s first encounter with Fadnavis since his exclusion, highlighting the growing tensions and protests by OBC groups against the decision.
