The TDP-led NDA government in Andhra Pradesh, under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, will celebrate its first year in office on Thursday by launching the ‘Talli Ki Vandanam’ scheme. This initiative, part of the government’s ‘Super Six’ poll promises, aims to support mothers by providing Rs 15,000 annually for each child studying in school. The amount will be directly transferred to the mother’s bank account.

A total of 67 lakh mothers, covering over 67.27 lakh students, will benefit from the scheme. On Thursday, the government will credit Rs 8,745 crore to the beneficiaries. Students newly admitted to Class 1 and Intermediate First Year will also be included once their admission data is available.

‘Talli Ki Vandanam’ replaces the earlier 'Jagananna Amma Vodi' scheme introduced by the previous YSR Congress government, which also provided Rs 15,000 to mothers for school-going children.

The government has also launched the Deepam scheme, providing three free gas cylinders annually to every eligible family. Under the Aadabidda Nidhi scheme, women aged 18–59 will receive Rs 1,500 per month. Farmers will get Rs 20,000 per year through the Annadatha scheme, while unemployed youth will receive Rs 3,000 per month under Yuvashakti.

Another major promise—free travel for women in APSRTC buses—will be launched on August 15. These schemes aim to empower mothers, support families, and boost welfare across the state.
