Union Home Minister Amit Shah revealed his retirement plans on Wednesday, saying he wants to focus on natural farming and reading Hindu scriptures like the Vedas and Upanishads after leaving public life.

Speaking at the ‘Sahkar Samvaad’ event in Ahmedabad, Shah shared that he will fully dedicate himself to spiritual studies and farming once he retires. He explained that natural farming, also known as organic farming, has many health benefits and is based on science.

Shah said that crops grown using chemical fertilizers can cause health problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid issues, and even cancer. He added that natural farming can make people healthier and reduce their need for medicines.

Sharing his personal experience, he mentioned that he saw his own farm’s produce increase by 1.5 times after adopting natural farming methods.

A few months ago, Shah spoke about his weight loss journey and how he improved his health by following healthy habits. He said that since 2019, he has focused on getting enough sleep, drinking clean water, eating proper food, and doing regular exercise. Because of this, he no longer needs allopathic medicines.

Shah also advised young people to exercise for two hours daily and sleep for six hours to stay healthy. He encouraged them to focus on good health so they can contribute to the country’s progress for the next 40 to 50 years.
