Taapsee Pannu, known for taking on diverse roles, is all set to switch gears after wrapping up her intense revenge thriller Gandhari. Directed by Devashish Makhija, Gandhari features Taapsee in a bold and gritty avatar, with Ishwak Singh playing a key role. The film, which finished shooting in March, is expected to release on an OTT platform later this year. Taapsee had shared glimpses from the shoot on Instagram, sparking curiosity with her powerful transformation and the film’s raw setting.
After diving deep into action and drama, Taapsee is now preparing to headline a light-hearted comedy, marking a fresh shift in her film choices. According to News18 Showsha, the upcoming project will showcase her fun, humorous side—offering a contrast to her intense recent performances. While the cast and storyline remain under wraps, the official announcement is expected soon.
This won’t be Taapsee’s first time dabbling in comedy. In 2024, she starred in Khel Khel Mein alongside Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor. She also played a lead role in Dunki, a comedy-drama directed by Rajkumar Hirani and co-starring Shah Rukh Khan. Both films received positive responses from audiences, highlighting her ability to handle lighter genres with ease.
Meanwhile, fans continue to await updates on her much-delayed film Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan, co-starring Pratik Gandhi. Though completed in 2022, the film is yet to get a release date.
Taapsee’s upcoming comedy promises to add another interesting layer to her evolving filmography, as she balances intense roles with more playful storytelling.
