Ryan Reynolds lends his voice to Underdogs, a new and quirky natural history docu-series by National Geographic. Premiering Thursday at 8 PM, the five-part series explores the fascinating lives of lesser-known animals, showcasing their unusual mating rituals, odd parenting habits, and surprising abilities.

In a playful statement, Reynolds shared, Working with Nat Geo on Underdogs was a dream—mainly because I can finally show something of mine to my kids. They technically saw Deadpool & Wolverine, but I’m not sure they absorbed much while screaming with their eyes covered.

Created by Reynolds’ company Maximum Effort and Wildstar Films, the show combines humour, rich visuals, and fresh storytelling to shine a spotlight on nature’s unsung heroes. It’s designed to entertain while educating viewers of all ages.

The soundtrack by Harry Gregson-Williams dropped on June 13 and is now available on major streaming platforms. Executive producers include Reynolds, Mark Linfield, Vanessa Berlowitz, George Dewey, and others. In India, the series is being distributed by JioStar, a partnership between Reliance and The Walt Disney Company.
