Mahesh Babu and director SS Rajamouli are teaming up for their much-awaited big-budget adventure drama, tentatively titled SSMB29. Joining them in this cinematic spectacle are Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra and Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran.

As per latest reports, the team will soon fly to Kenya for a crucial schedule. The African shoot will feature the introduction scenes of both Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra’s characters. Far from a regular entry, the scene is expected to be a turning point in the story, shot amidst the wilderness of East Africa.

Before this, the crew wrapped major filming segments in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Hyderabad. Notably, a massive ₹50 crore set replicating Varanasi was built at Ramoji Film City to shoot key sequences, avoiding the challenges of filming in the holy city itself.

While the makers haven’t officially revealed the plot, strong rumours suggest that Mahesh Babu’s character is loosely inspired by Lord Hanuman and the film draws influence from the Indiana Jones franchise. With a screenplay by Vijayendra Prasad and music by MM Keeravani, expectations are sky-high.

With an estimated budget of ₹1,000 crore, SSMB29 is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious Indian films ever, with a planned release in March 2027. The Kenya shoot is expected to add scale and excitement to this much-anticipated cinematic journey.
