Khushi Bharadwaj will be seen in the fourth season of Criminal Justice, playing Ira—a character with Asperger's Syndrome. Ira is the daughter of characters played by Surveen Chawla and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and becomes a central suspect in a gripping murder case. The show explores the complex dynamics of the Nagpal family.
Khushi shared her experience, saying, It felt like a dream to be part of such a big franchise. I was preparing for my 10th board exams when the audition came, but we still went for it. I researched a lot about Asperger’s, watched many videos, and did my best to portray Ira honestly.
She added, I can’t reveal too much, but the upcoming episodes are packed with courtroom drama and emotional scenes. It was challenging yet rewarding to play someone with special needs. I’ve had the chance to interact with differently-abled students at school, including one in my class. That helped me understand how they communicate and view the world.
Khushi’s portrayal brings important visibility to characters with neurodiverse conditions in mainstream entertainment. Her role in Criminal Justice 4 is a step forward in representation and inclusivity.
The show is directed by Rohan Sippy and produced by Applause Entertainment in partnership with BBC Studios India. Season 4 of Criminal Justice is currently streaming on JioHotstar.
