Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey, recently acquitted of sexual assault charges in the UK, is set to make a return to the screen in the upcoming action-thriller The Awakening. The 64-year-old, a two-time Oscar winner, joins a cast that includes Alice Eve, Peter Stormare, and Julian Glover in the film directed by Matt Routledge.

Filmed at the iconic Pinewood Studios, The Awakening centers on Jason and Rebecca, played by newcomer Justin Tinto and She's Out of My League actress Alice Eve, as they uncover a dangerous global conspiracy. Spacey’s role remains under wraps for now.

The film is produced by Camelot Films in collaboration with Cloud9 Studios, which is launching international sales at the Cannes film market this month. Also featured in the cast are Steve Berkoff (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Julian Glover (Indiana Jones, Game of Thrones), Matt Hookings (Prizefighter), and former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall (Expendables 4).

The screenplay was co-written by Justin Tinto, Matt Routledge, and Matt Hookings, with Hookings also producing alongside Tim Kent. Executive producers include Justin Tinto, Sally Woodward, Adrian Goodisman, and Pia Patatian.

Producer Tim Kent shared his excitement, saying filming at Pinewood Studios added an extra layer of intrigue to this fast-paced conspiracy thriller. The Awakening marks a significant step in Spacey's effort to rebuild his acting career.
