Kannada producer accuses 'Hi Nanna' of plagiarism

CH News

The film Hi Nanna, starring Nani and Mrunal Thakur, was released in December 2023 and received a decent response at the box office. However, nearly 14 months later, a Kannada producer, Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah, has accused the filmmakers of plagiarism.

Mallikarjunaiah took to social media to claim that the plot of Hi Nanna was copied from his Kannada film Bheema Sena Nala Maharaja, which was released during the COVID-19 pandemic. He alleges that neither Nani, the lead actor, nor the director or producer sought permission or obtained remake rights before creating Hi Nanna.

While the accusations gained traction on social media, the team behind Hi Nanna has yet to comment on the matter.
