Netflix has announced that the popular martial arts series ‘Cobra Kai’ will conclude with its final episodes premiering on February 13, 2025. This finale, titled ‘The Finale Event’, is the third and last part of the concluding season, with each part featuring five episodes. Since its debut, ‘Cobra Kai’ has revitalized the ‘Karate Kid’ franchise, blending nostalgia with fresh characters and storylines, creating a loyal fanbase.
In its announcement, Netflix celebrated the show's impact, stating, "We’re not good at goodbyes … because Cobra Kai never dies.” This reflects the series' cultural significance, as it bridges the original ‘Karate Kid’ legacy with a modern audience.
The final episodes will follow the shocking events of Part 2, which included the unexpected return of a major antagonist and a dramatic tournament outcome involving a fatality. These twists set the stage for the ultimate showdown between Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai, with characters confronting their pasts and facing an uncertain future—nearly 40 years after the iconic 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament.
Throughout its run, ‘Cobra Kai’ has featured original stars Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, reprising their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, while introducing new talent to craft a story that appeals across generations.
The series has been guided by Heald, Hurwitz, and Schlossberg of Counterbalance Entertainment, with executive producers Will Smith, James Lassiter, and others ensuring the ‘Karate Kid’ legacy remains alive. Macchio and Zabka also served as executive producers, further contributing to this intergenerational phenomenon.
