Brad Garrett rules out Raymond Reboot

Actor-comedian Brad Garrett, best known for his role as Robert Barone in the iconic sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond, has confirmed that a reboot of the beloved series will not happen. In a recent interview with People magazine, the 65-year-old actor cited the absence of key cast members as the reason. Created by Philip Rosenthal, Everybody Loves Raymond originally aired from 1996 to 2005. The show starred Ray Romano as Raymond Barone, a sports columnist living with his wife and children in Long Island, while dealing with his overbearing parents and older brother, played by Garrett. The series also featured Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle as Ray’s parents, both of whom have since passed away.

“There is no show without the parents,” Garrett said, referring to Roberts and Boyle. “They were the catalyst, and to do anything that would resemble that wouldn’t be right to the audiences or the loyal fan base. It was about those two families, and you can’t get around that.” Though fans have long hoped for a revival, Garrett made it clear that the original cast’s chemistry was irreplaceable. Still, the actor expressed his deep appreciation for being part of the series. “I know a reboot won’t happen, but 30 years later, I got very lucky to get on that bus. I’m very grateful,” he said.

Everybody Loves Raymond remains one of the most celebrated American sitcoms, known for its relatable family dynamics, humor, and heartfelt storytelling that continues to resonate with audiences around the world through reruns and streaming platforms.
