In a significant development as part of the ongoing renovation of Yeshwantpur Railway Station, a state-of-the-art multi-level car park is taking shape. The project aims to cater to the parking needs of both four-wheelers and two-wheelers, accommodating 125 cars and 90 bikes. Additionally, provision has been made for temporary parking of 40 autos or cabs and 50 two-wheelers, offering a comprehensive solution for commuters. The multi-level car park, boasting five levels (G+5), will span an impressive 6,000 square meters, ensuring ample parking space for travelers. Furthermore, an open basement area measuring 1,200 square meters on the western side (metro side or platform 6 side) will be available for parking convenience. This redevelopment initiative, which commenced in February 2023, comes with a substantial budget of Rs 380 crore. The ambitious project is slated for completion by July 2025, promising enhanced facilities and a seamless travel experience for passengers. As part of Phase-1 of the project, construction activities have been initiated on the eastern side, specifically Platform 1. The ongoing work includes the construction of the multi-level car park (G+5) and an elevated road to facilitate efficient passenger pick-up and drop-off. Notably, the station's arrival and departure gates are being developed separately to alleviate congestion and streamline passenger movements. Once the work on the eastern side is finalized, attention will shift to the western side, closer to the Metro area. This phase will involve the creation of dedicated arrival and departure centers for vehicles, further enhancing the station's overall infrastructure. The Yeshwantpur Railway Station's transformation promises a more modern and passenger-friendly experience for all.
