Two individuals have been arrested for posting obscene comments about popular actress Ramya on social media, confirmed Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh. The arrests were made following a formal complaint filed by the actress.

According to the commissioner, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) has identified a total of 13 individuals involved in the case. Of them, two have been arrested, and 11 others are currently under investigation. The offensive comments were posted across multiple social media platforms, and officials have verified each one as part of their ongoing probe.

Police are also verifying if the accused are affiliated with any fan groups. “No matter who they are or who they support, anyone posting vulgar or defamatory content will face strict legal action,” said Singh. He also noted that cyber police teams have received special training to handle such cases more efficiently and sensitively.

The arrests have come after a growing trend of online abuse targeting celebrities, particularly women. Authorities are now cracking down on such digital harassment with increased surveillance and faster response from cybercrime units. “We’ve already collected detailed information and IP data. The investigation is active, and more arrests may follow,” added Singh. The police urge the public to refrain from making offensive posts and to report such behavior when seen online. Officials reiterated that online platforms are not beyond the law and those using them irresponsibly will be held accountable.
