T.S. Eliot has significantly influenced Kannada literature, impacting prominent writers such as Gopalakrishna Adiga, Ananthamurthy, Lankesh, and Girish Karnad. Dorin Snehalata, head of the English department, emphasized the need to connect today's generation with this literary heritage through the Kannada-English Literary Forum.

This discussion took place during the inauguration of the Kannada-English Literary Forum and the release of Chinnuprekash Sriramana Halli's book titled "The Comparative Study of Dramatic Elements in Selected Plays of T.S. Eliot" at the Government First Grade College. D.R. Nagaraj of the Kannada and English departments also addressed the gathering.

Snehalata highlighted the importance of encouraging today's youth to engage with both Kannada and English literature, stating that through reading, individuals can acquire the strength to confront human struggles.

Poet Hemantalingappa, speaking about the book, noted the significance of the study on the dramatic qualities in Eliot's plays. He pointed out how the challenges of disillusionment and spiritual emptiness brought about by the two World Wars profoundly affected Eliot and are reflected in his works. He aimed to open the eyes of humanity through literature, showcasing the harsh realities of modernity and the destruction caused by war in his dramas.

Chinnuprekash discussed how the unique use of drama and poetry, along with symbolism and imaginative power in Eliot's works, is noteworthy. The three plays mentioned in his book embrace tradition while simultaneously welcoming modernity.

Dr. Sadashiv Ramachandrappa, the Principal, presided over the event, which was attended by Rural Police Inspector Sadiq Pasha, Kannada Department Head Dr. Ravi Kumar, and Dr. B.R. Gangadharaiah, among others.
