Traffic police crack down on parking

In a move to tackle growing traffic congestion and enforce parking regulations, the HAL Airport Traffic Police conducted a special drive against illegally parked vehicles on New Horizon College Road on Tuesday. The enforcement effort was led by officers from the Whitefield Traffic Division, including ACP Traffic Whitefield, and aimed to restore order on one of the area’s frequently congested stretches.

The traffic awareness Initiative was announced through the official handle of HAL Airport Traffic Police, which thanked citizens for their cooperation. Several vehicles found violating “No Parking” norms were either fined or towed away during the operation.

Officers stated that improper parking along educational institution roads not only causes inconvenience to daily commuters but also poses risks to pedestrians, particularly students. With heavy vehicle movement during peak hours, such obstructions significantly reduce traffic flow efficiency and increase the chance of accidents. This enforcement action is part of a broader effort by the Bengaluru Traffic Police to improve road discipline across the city. Authorities have urged motorists to strictly follow parking rules and use designated areas to avoid penalties.

Citizens have also been encouraged to report persistent violations through the traffic police’s online grievance platforms. Officials noted that more such targeted operations will be conducted in key traffic-prone areas in the coming weeks. The traffic police emphasized that ensuring road safety and smoother commutes requires public cooperation along with continuous enforcement, especially in rapidly growing zones like Whitefield and Marathahalli.
