Revenue Inspector Kavitha, serving in the Vasanthnagar Sub-Division under the East Zone, has been suspended from service for dereliction of duty in connection with the Scheduled Castes Comprehensive Survey 2025. The action was taken after she failed to carry out the mandatory task of affixing survey stickers at households, an essential component of the ongoing state-wide survey.
Officials stated that the sticker placement activity is a crucial part of the data collection process, and any negligence could affect the integrity of the survey. Kavitha’s suspension adds to a growing list of government staff penalized for similar lapses. Previously, three other Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) employees were suspended for failing to perform the same duty in different sub-divisions. Those suspended include Revenue Inspector Ramesh from the HBR Layout Sub-Division, Revenue Collector Pedduraju, and Revenue Collector C. Sandil Kumar from the Kengeri Sub-Division Office. All were found to have shown negligence in the house-to-house sticker affixation process.
The Scheduled Castes Comprehensive Survey 2025 Is a major initiative aimed at gathering accurate demographic and socio-economic data to better inform policy decisions. The state government has emphasized strict adherence to survey procedures and warned of disciplinary action against any staff failing to perform their assigned roles. Officials have reaffirmed that maintaining accountability at all administrative levels is essential to ensure the success and credibility of the survey, which is considered a key step in shaping inclusive governance strategies.
