In a chilling case of domestic violence, a 48-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his son-in-law with the help of his wife and daughter in Kadugodi, Bengaluru. The body was later taken to Kolar and secretly burnt in the early hours of the morning to destroy evidence.

The victim, Babu, hailed from Devanahalli and worked at a warehouse in Bengaluru. According to police, his wife Munirathna, daughter, and son-in-law Ramakrishna were involved in the crime. Tensions reportedly escalated after Babu objected to his daughter’s recent marriage to Ramakrishna, which took place three months ago against his wishes. On July 26, the couple visited Babu’s house, where a heated argument broke out. Enraged, Babu allegedly assaulted his wife Munirathna. In retaliation, Ramakrishna struck Babu on the head, causing him to collapse and die on the spot.

Realizing the gravity of the situation, the trio allegedly planned to cover up the crime. They hired an ambulance through a relative and transported the body around 3 a.m. to the outskirts of Kolar, where they cremated it without informing the authorities. The incident came to light four days later when Babu’s younger daughter informed relatives. Babu’s brother filed a complaint at Kadugodi Police Station. Following an investigation, the police arrested Ramakrishna and Munirathna, both of whom confessed to the murder during interrogation. Further inquiries are ongoing.
