If the ongoing problems are not resolved before the next monsoon, I will resign from my MLA position, declared Byrathi Basavaraj, BJP MLA from KR Puram constituency.

Speaking to the media during a visit to Sai Layout, he stated that these issues have persisted for the past 12 years. As the MLA of this area, he has responded to the people's problems by personally going to the affected sites as early as 5 a.m. during rainy days and providing basic facilities. He also mentioned that he has detailed the problems to the Chief Minister and has received assurances that the issues will be addressed. He emphasized that if the problems are not resolved before the next monsoon, he will resign from his MLA seat.

He criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for not visiting the flood-affected areas. “If he doesn’t come to the flooded areas, what can I do? During B.S. Yediyurappa’s government, work had begun to control the rainwater, but now no funds are being paid. If funds are provided, the problem can be solved,” he explained.

He further said, “If he doesn’t come, should I hold his hand and go along? I follow my principles and values. Wherever they go, I go with them. If they don’t come, what can I do?” expressing his dissatisfaction.

During this time, local workers and residents tried to raise their issues with the MLA, but they were prevented from speaking. When residents questioned the MLA, he left the spot. The locals expressed their anger and frustration at the MLA for not listening to their problems.
